| I've had four new homes built, three stick built and my fourth a Modular home purchased from Alternative Modular Homes (AMH). I chose AMH for the following reasons:
- AMH came highly recommended from a co-worker for whom AMH had built a home 10 years prior
- Mary Anna spoke very intelligently to the product and the process
- AMH priced competively, although not the lowest
I am pleased I chose AMH and would choose them again for the following reasons:
- Mary Anna and John communicated openly, clearly and honestly throughout the process
- There were few surprises, not possible to eliminate all surprises when building a home, there were very few
- Mary Anna's estimated timelines were very accurate
- The quality of the deliverable is very high, for instance, all windows and doors opperate very smoothly from the get-go, can't always be said for a new home
- Each "box" is built to be strong, when stacked on top of each other as is the case with my colonial the resulting structure is very strong
- Very easy to modify the plans and Mary Anna was patient and proactive leading up to the finalization of the plans
- The build process is quick and worry free
- Mary Anna and John worked very well with my excavation / site work contractor - I think a highly skilled local site contractor is a critical element to a successful build.
I encourage anyone considering a modular home to speak with Mary Anna and John prior to making a decision. I had met with a number of Modular home providers prior to meeting with Mary Anna and John. I am very pleased I choose AMH and would do so again.

| "In November, 2009, we decided to have a home built on our property in South Waterford, Maine. We visited with Alternative Modular Homes in Oxford and made the choice to hire them. We made a wise choice. Mary Anna and John Palmer own the company. They carefully took us through the steps and hooked us up with good people to complete the work. "In the spring of 2009, after visiting several modular home businesses, we chose Alternative Modular Homes after our first visit with Mary Anna and John Palmer. The professionalism they showed during our initial site visit was what convinced us. They asked us questions, made no assumptions and courteously offered helpful ideas as we struggled to understand what was possible with our old side hill property.
Over a year later the result still amazes us on a daily basis! It is the house we always dreamed of, the placement, the layout and the wnderful deck that Mary Anna suggested makes it even better. | Alternative Modular Homes built our home 12 years ago. When we started looking around for a modular builder, we found many that weren’t welcoming a young couple with too many ideas and a limited budget. John and Mary Anna were very willing to tackle our project. We found them to be very honest, friendly, and professional. We knew we had found the right place at Alternative Modular Homes.
We had our lot and a house plan set to go, but discovered that the amount of ledge to be blasted would put us well over budget. Mary Anna knew our mind was set on a cape and didn’t press the idea of a split-level. We eventually decided to change the style of house to fit the land. Mary Anna patiently went back to the drawing board with us to design our home. We had many options and making decisions was difficult for us. Mary Anna allowed us all the time we needed to get it right. The process took many months, but it was well worth the time. We love our home.
We liked working with Mary Anna and John so much that we are currently designing a second home with them. They have many years of experience with their manufacturers and their contractors. This helps the whole process go very smoothly. We know that the Alternative Modular Home product is high quality, and we trust that all aspects of our project will be handled with great knowledge and expertise and in a timely manner.. Again we are facing all the new choices for our home. Mary Anna and John have met with us many times as we work toward the final plans. We really appreciate the personal attention they give us.
